DREAMERS STRUGGLE IN THE POLITICAL REALM – I’LL REMAIN A DREAMER
My first taste of pure politics (evil) in the church
They recognised our ability and they exploited it rather than empowering it.
I’ve always viewed the world 🌎 a little different to the average Joe and have dreamt about the ‘WHAT IF?’
Some would call me a dreamer and perhaps I am. The difference would be, I put legs to my dreams everyday, considering ‘WHAT IF?’
The church that I was a part of were heavy into street outreach when I first joined them, I was seventeen years of age.
I loved the outrageous ways we tried to reach people, through theatre, music, street preaching, sports, barbecues etc.. the vibe was truly electric, especially for a teenager.
As a dreamer, the organisation appealed to my ‘WHAT IF?’ I saw such potential in transforming communities.
The organisation grew somewhat from town to town, state to state and across the oceans, internationally… then the question was no longer ‘WHAT IF?’
it was ‘WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?’
WE OPENED THE PANDORAS BOX OF POLITICS
Brother turned against brother, friend turned against friend, father against son etc.. and it turned ugly
No longer were the core values wholesome, simple, radical and diverse, they became political tools of manipulation to benefit the few.
Many left the organisation in absolute despair, I was one of them and swore black and blue that I never want go near Pandora’s Box again.
How naive I was, I see now that I was been prepared for life’s reality’s. Pandora’s Box is alive and well in the corporate world, the not for profit world and in every group driven by power so that the few can benefit at the expense of the rest.
You can’t even mind your own business, because your business is their business.
How do we survive politics?
Go back to having a childlike Faith, go back and ask yourself the question, the most exciting question again ‘WHAT IF?’
Mind your business and shame them with your transparency.
Be as wise as a serpent, calm as a dove, that’s how you’ll outwit the wolves ~ Jesus
A survivor of politics, religion, corporate life and family.
These days – My faith is stronger than ever, I love business. as for family, my family is the best.
